The HATS are IN! | 15% of All Profits Go to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund
by Chase Parnell — June 2, 2020
We placed a hat order way back in January but due to the coronavirus, manufacturing was backed up for months. We didn’t originally plan on contributing a percentage of our profits to a cause until the recent events that took place in our country. So maybe the hats arrived just in time? Either way, we want to play a part in the fight for equality and contribute in a tangible way with this platform we’ve created.
Nikki and I feel strongly about supporting the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF) as a small step towards making black lives truly matter. LDF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose core mission is to fight for racial justice. “Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans.” In a time such as this, we recognize our privilege and the work that must be done in our families, in our communities, and in our nation to bring about change. How we live and love our neighbors matters. We see this as a simple way for our voice and resources to become part of the solution instead of maintaining the status quo, because that clearly isn’t working. We want to walk in solidarity with People of Color and are trying to educate ourselves and learn how.
The Loowit Trucker Hat
Okay, so what can I tell you about the hat? Well, the great thing about it is that you’ll be just as comfortable in it during your run as you are at your local brewery after the run; performance meets style. We sourced the Loowit trucker hat from Territory Run Co. out of Portland, Oregon. We were able to use their base model and customize the rest to meet our specifications and desired look.

The hat is lightweight with moisture wicking properties. Its soft absorbent band is comfortable and keeps sweat from dripping into your eyes. The hat is one-size-fits-all with an adjustable strap to help you find that sweet spot. The hat is stowable and regains its shape even after many hours in your duffle or carry-on bag.
We hope you love our custom Treeline Journal hats as much as we do. We’d love to see the adventures these hats go on! Tag us @treeline_journal and hashtag #fromthetreeline in a picture of you wearing the hat on your favorite singletrack, on top of a mountain, or heck, even while flipping a burger on your grill.
Thank you so much for your support and purchase. You are helping keep Treeline Journal afloat as well as contributing to the fight for racial justice and equality in a land that is severely hurting.
Kudos to you two for donating a part of your hat sales to this cause, especially during this tough time financially! You two have big hearts! And great hats!
