Episode 50: One Year of The Run Hard Mom Hard Podcast!

Wow! It’s been a whole year of having a podcast and spending hours talking to TONS of amazing ultrarunning mamas! We feel so thankful for all the stories we’ve heard, knowledge we’ve gathered, experiences we’ve had, friendships we’ve gained, and encouragement we’ve gleaned from each and every guest we’ve had on the show. It’s truly been life giving and life changing for Stef and I! 

In this episode we discuss how the year started, how it’s going and where we’re headed from here. We navigated a pandemic, juggled mom/work/running/podcast life, tried hard to be consistent, learned how to show up in our imperfection and soaked up the positive virtual community that our guests and listeners have surrounded us with! We reflect on how each episode we’ve done has reminded us that what we’re all doing – being moms and running long distances – is a very beautiful thing. The pursuit, the passion and the struggle is all beautiful and worthwhile. A continual theme amongst our guests has been that running is a celebration of life. As moms we run to celebrate our life, our kids’ lives, our strength and freedom to move our bodies and our ability to overcome the challenges we face in the process. We share a couple clips from past episodes that exemplify this celebration – though of course we would share something from every single conversation because we haven’t met a mom that hasn’t left us inspired and in awe, but alas, that would take dayyyyss.
