Episode 75 | Annika Brubaker on Overcoming and Ultrarunning

by Nikki Parnell — February 4, 2022

This week we chat with Annika Brubaker – a mom of two, ultrarunner out of Eastern Washington, coach for Team RunRun and race director! Annika grew up in a home where running wasn’t encouraged or accepted, so it’s amazing what she has overcome and how she has gotten herself past the need for others approval to where she is today as a beautiful example of living a healthy lifestyle for her kids!!

We hear about how grief and depression lead her to running and how pivotal it has been for her mental health ever since. Annika shares stories about the first ultras she did, her experiences with high risk pregnancies, facing a terrifying diagnosis for her daughter, how she trains in motherhood and the coaching she does nowadays. She really understands and remembers what it’s like to start this sport of ours for the first time and she’s determined to help other runners begin their journeys and reach their goals too!

Annika is so strong, inspiring and a fantastic cheerleader for all moms who run. We hope you enjoy this episode – Don’t forget to subscribe and share this with other mother runners in your life! Thank you!
