[Video] Episode 3. Tam McArthur Rim Trail – Run Date!

by Chase Parnell – October 6, 2019

Finally put this little video together from an outing with Nikki to the Tam McArthur Rim trail just south of Sisters, Oregon. This is one of the iconic trails of Central Oregon yet I’d never been on it. Shame! It’s an accessible trail with a big payoff just a few miles from the trailhead. Hit it in the shoulder season like we did if you want to avoid the crowds.

This was actually filmed the weekend before I quit my job. So much has happened since then! I’m so happy to be on the other side of all that drama. I’m in a much better place now and people have said they can see it on my face the minute they see me — like my eyes are a little brighter. Crazy.

As you can tell from the first couple seconds, we are still dialing in our video skills but I did pick up a little mini Joby tri-pod that attaches to the iPhone for smoother shooting. One step in the right direction!

We had a blast out there. Such a beautiful place. The overcast skies made for some incredibly vibrant colors. Perhaps we can sneak out there one more time before the snow really hits with a fury.

When you get into it, hover your mouse over the logo in the bottom left corner of the YouTube screen and subscribe to receive updates when we post new videos. Okay, enjoy another Hollywood quality “film” from Treeline Journal.
